About Us

The Maryland AfterSchool Association, MdAA (formerly known as the Maryland School-Age Child Care Alliance, MSACCA) is a professional organization formed in 1995 by and for school-age child care professionals.  Our members include front line staff, directors, managers, owners, administrators, stakeholders, and others interested in supporting and improving school-age care in the state of Maryland.

Committees

MdAA Members have an opportunity to contribute to the organization by lending their talents to one of our committees.  If  or work groups.  If you are interested in participating, please email us at MDAfterSchoolAssociation@gmail.com. Active participation may qualify for Professional Activity Units towards the Maryland Child Care Credential.

Membership: Responsible for recruiting new members and managing the membership database.

Public Policy: Responsible for keeping the organization up to date on matters of policy such as regulation changes and other child safety issues.

Professional Development: Responsible for Fall conference, Spring training symposium and other professional development activities.

Governance: Reviews MSACCA policies, oversees the election process and periodically reviews and revises the by-laws.

Communication: Responsible for insuring timely communication with members via email. website, social media, and other means.

Scholarship: Review applications and award scholarships and grants in accordance with MSACCA guidelines.

Hospitality: Provide refreshments and hospitality at MSACCA meetings and events.

Fundraising: Designs and promotes fundraising activities that support the overall mission of MSACCA.
